Psychosocial Support

Trained breast cancer survivors provide psychosocial or emotional support to help individuals with breast cancer and their loved ones to cope with life during and after diagnosis and treatment.

Individual Support

Individual psychosocial support is offered in face-to-face sessions, through the telephone or email. On their first visit to the hospital, the Patient Support Team of Survivors provides a newly diagnosed individual with a temporary prosthesis (if needed) and written material to help her and her family cope emotionally, mentally and physically with her diagnosis, treatment and recovery. The Patient Support Team visits patients in government and private hospitals regularly. Government and private doctors also refer their patients to BCWA for psychosocial support.
